Nicole Curby

Nicole Curby (@nicole_curby) is the writer, producer and co-host of The Wait.

She’s an audio producer, journalist and oral historian. Nicole loves immersive long form audio that is collaborative and creative. Now living in Wollongong, Australia, Nicole lived in Jakarta in 2016-2017. She has followed the situation for refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia since then, documenting stories across the country in a series of articles and audio works. The Wait is the culmination of long-term research, collaboration and friendship stretching across time and place.

Nicole’s written and audio work has appeared on ABC Radio National, The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, Deutsche Welle, and Meanjin.
