Michelle Macklem
Michelle Macklem (@michmacklem) (she/her) is a sound designer, mix engineer and artist.
Using audio as an interlocutor, her work is concerned with the politics of land, voice and atmosphere. Her work uses sound – stars and stone, hands and wings, tables and trees – as a connective tissue between our bodies and the environment.
She’s produced audio work for the BBC, CBC, ABC RN and NPR. She’s the co-founder and artistic director of the sound art project and community Constellations. She previously worked as a producer on 7AM and is currently sound designing and mixing Am I Normal? with Mona Chalabi for TED and sound-designing a series for Audible Originals. Prior to that, she worked as a producer at CBC podcasts where she produced the Webby award-winning podcast The Fridge Light, and Sleepover with Sook-Yin Lee.
