Laura Starecheski
Laura Starecheski (They/Them) is an editor at This American Life and also edited The Retrievals, a Peabody award-winning podcast from Serial Productions and The New York Times.
Previously Laura was at Reveal, where they were a lead producer and reporter for American Rehab, a series that catalyzed a federal investigation into the addiction treatment industry. At Reveal, they covered everything from racial discrimination in mortgage lending to the Pizzagate conspiracy theory. They started out in journalism as a fact-checker before beginning in public radio at WNYC, and later reported for State of the Re:Union (SOTRU) and NPR's Science Desk. Laura's Radiolab story Goat on a Cow won a Third Coast Silver Award and SOTRU’s The Hospital Always Wins won a Third Coast Director’s Choice.
