Kate Sweeney
Kate Sweeney is a radio producer in Atlanta. Working at WABE, 90.1 FM, she’s done stories on poverty and planning, profiles of writers and thinkers, and features about Atlanta characters.
She’s also the author of American Afterlife (University of Georgia Press, 2014), a nonfiction book about why our death customs look like they do, and which won the Georgia Author of the Year Award. Kate has won five Edward R. Murrow awards as well as a number of Associated Press awards. Her writing has appeared in Oxford American Magazine, Utne Reader Online, Atlanta Magazine and New South, among other outlets.
