Amy Pearl
Amy Pearl makes photos and videos for WNYC. She worked at the New York Post as a copy kid in high school. Fresh out of college, Pearl was hired as the producer for New York Beat, hosted by Curtis Sliwa of Guardian Angels fame.
Over the years, she has worked with The Brian Lehrer Show, Morning Edition, Soundcheck, Radiolab, On The Media, The Leonard Lopate Show, Studio 360 and WQXR.
In 2008 she was in Denver to make photos and videos at the Democratic Convention. After Super Storm Sandy hit, she was on the flooded streets of Red Hook and Staten Island and later traveled from Cape May, NJ to Montauk to document storm damage and recovery.
Amy currently produces photos and videos about chickens in the South Bronx, kids learning to taste, dogs running radio stations, drunk fundraisers, secret libraries, junkyard composers, trash collectors and graveyard caretakers.
