Jaimita Haskell was given the opportunity to take advanced classes at her high school, an experience she found stimulating and rewarding.
When she was dropped back into mainstream classes, she challenged the educational tracking system at her school, an action that inspired other students to follow her lead.
Tracking won the Public Service Award in the 2003 Third Coast / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition.
