Five years ago Erik embarked on "the project" - a last ditch attempt to harness the demons of his past.
What Erik thought would be a process of healing - reporting the sexual abuse he suffered as a child to the Australian police and undertaking intensive counseling - has broken him. In this extraordinarily raw and intimate story, Erik takes his former partner, producer Kirsti Melville, to his favorite place, the Australian bush, where they speak frankly about his abuse, its legacy, and the toll it took on their relationship.
WARNING: This story contains graphic descriptions of childhood sexual abuse.
In our behind-the-scenes interview, Kirsti discusses the impact of the documentary, as well as the fine line between telling the difficult-to-hear truth and not turning listeners away.
The Storm 's sound engineer was David Le May. All artwork is by Erik.
