Martha White interviewed her friend Jessica Chapin at Santa Monica's Step Up on Second, a psychosocial rehabilitation and support program for people affected by severe and persistent mental illness.

Jessica is a resident in the organization's permanent supportive housing and Martha is a member in the supportive services programs. They sat down to interview each other about what that program has helped them accomplish while living with emotional illness.

Sara Harris was born in Chicago, raised in the Netherlands, and lives in Los Angeles. She has been known to rise from bed at 2am to point her microphone at coyotes barking, sudden rainstorms, and Chinook helicopters over the small canyon she lives in. She is the host and creator of Hear in the City (on KPFK in Los Angeles), a show committed to mapping the city through voices and sounds of creative social change.
