Growing up in Miami, Harvey Katz - then Elizabeth - was expected to have a bat mitzvah (the Jewish coming of age ceremony for girls), followed by a big, blow-out party.

And he did. It was all captured on video. This is a 1980s coming-of-age story, complete with excited relatives, Madonna soundtrack, a limbo pole, and a pinstripe pair of culottes.
