Nancy is the inspiration of bi-coastal friends who met at the Transom Story workshop, and knew they wanted to make an LGBTQ podcast together.
The BFFs are producers Tobin Low and Kathy Tu, who won a competition from WNYC Studios to make their dream pilot - which led to the 2017 debut of Nancy. It's is all about LGBTQ life today, and after five episodes it's already clear that co-hosts Kathy and Tobin want to explore every nook and cranny, whether it's joyful, a gut-punch, silly or political. We share Nancy: Episode 1, in which Kathy and Tobin reminisce with their parents about coming out, though in the case of Kathy and her mom, it's still very much a work in progress.
