As eerie as this may seem, photographing the dead, or memento mori, was popular back in the 19th century. Producer Jude Fletcher takes a trip to Story City, Iowa, to discover why this faded tradition is still cherished by some in her family, and to come to terms with her own feelings on the matter.
Memento Mori was commissioned for the 2004 ShortDocs: Stories About Darkness.
