Morgan Givens

Morgan Givens (@Optimus_Mo) is a storyteller, writer and producer based in Washington, DC. Morgan is a co-facilitator of the 2019 POC in Audio Meetup with Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong, all about the crucial question: how do we continue working on diversifying on-air voices, while keeping folks from marginalized communities safe — in spaces that historically have not seen the full range of their humanity (or made the space to do so)?

Morgan has performed live for NPRs Invisibilia, at multiple mainstage shows for The Moth, and presented on panels at the AFI Documentary Film Festival and at Podcast Movement 2019 for their first-ever audio fiction tract. A graduate of the Transom storytelling workshop and a former AIR New Voices scholar, Morgan is also the creator of the critically-acclaimed and award winning hopepunk fiction podcast Flyest Fables. He currently works as a producer on 1A, the daily news and talk show from WAMU and NPR.”
