Rob Wildeboer

Rob Wildeboer is the senior editor of WBEZ’s criminal justice desk, where he works with three amazingly talented investigative reporters.

In 2018 the team produced “16 Shots,” a podcast telling the story of Laquan McDonald’s shooting by a Chicago police officer, the city’s attempts to cover-up the shooting and the protests that eventually led to the officer’s trial and conviction.

Prior to leading the criminal justice team Rob led the daily news coverage for WBEZ as the senior editor of news. He started his career as the criminal justice reporter at the station and his work was recognized with dozens of awards. In 2014 he was the Knight-Wallace Law Fellow at the University of Michigan.
