Melissa Chadburn (@melissachadburn) work has appeared in The LA Times, NYT Book Review, Longreads, and dozens of other places.

She’s received a notable mention in The Best American Essays, and her essay on food insecurity was selected for The Best American Food Writing 2019. Her debut novel, A Tiny Upward Shove, is forthcoming with Farrar, Straus, & Giroux. She'll be joining USC PhD in Creative Writing program Fall 2019.
