Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong

Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong (@adwoa_g) is a producer, editor, and multimedia storyteller who is deeply committed to co-creating story. Adwoa is a member of the 2019 Community Advisory Group and co-facilitator of the 2019 POC in Audio Meetup with Morgan Givens, all about the crucial question: how do we continue working on diversifying on-air voices, while keeping folks from marginalized communities safe — in spaces that historically have not seen the full range of their humanity (or made the space to do so)?

Continuing to live up to a disapproving kindergarten report card, Adwoa has trouble sitting still. She has lived and worked on five continents; her heart is split between West Africa and Oakland. She loves immersive multimedia projects, oversized tropical plants, and tinned fish. Adwoa is often seen in cowboy boots and a neon dress, headed for the nearest airport.

Adwoa is an alumna of Mills College and New College of Florida, as well as the VONA/Voices and NextGen Radio fellowships. She is currently a producer on The Record at KUOW in Seattle. Check out more of Adwoa's work here.

Third Coast International Audio Festival, or Third Coast, has served an ever-growing global community of narrative audio storytellers and makers since 2000. An independent nonprofit arts organization based in Chicago, we center people first in our advocacy for the medium of audio as an art form. Through our work, we seek to push at the boundaries of the audio industry and support an international community of creators who build our world in sound.
