Come out and LISTEN!

Since its inception, the Third Coast Festival has been exploring ways to lift radio off the airwaves and deliver it into the public arena. Each year we offer a series of public listening events, or Listening Rooms, and a variety of other public activities both in Chicago and in other cities around the country.

The Third Coast Festival Listening Room:

This regular series presents unforgettable audio work in a theater setting and offers radio fans the opportunity to listen together and share opinions about what they hear. Each event features a special guest and includes a diverse selection of documentary audio work. It's like a book club for radio.

Other Public Events:

Throughout the course of the year the Third Coast Festival both sponsors and supports other audio-based public events happening in Chicago and beyond.

A FIRST FOR THE THIRD COAST! The TCF was asked by Steppenwolf Theatre to curate an installation of mysterious short phone "plays" to complement its production of Dead Man's Cell Phone, a new work by MacArthur "genius" Sara Ruhl . We hope you'll check it out!

Join us out in the world!
