Story

As the story continues, we finally learn that conservatives share some sort of nostalgia with liberals.

Liberals was produced for the 2006 TCF ShortDocs Challenge: 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story.

Producer

Alfred Koch was born in Graz in 1957. He has been with the ORF (Austrian Radio) since 1976. Since 1995 he has been a producer and author for the Feature Departement of the Austrian Radio. He has been awarded variousnational and international prizes; in 2002 he won the Prix Italia for a portrait of the American author, Raymond Carver. This was followed in 2003 by the Prix Marulic Special-Prize for his programme on Montaigne. Eventually, he produced Philip Scheiner’s A Minor that received a Prix Italia in 2008.

Extra

The Third Coast collaborated with cartoonist Matt Madden on 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story. The project, inspired by the French literary group Oulipo, asked any/everyone to produce a short audio piece that:

- began with some manifestation of, "To begin with, they never got along;"
- included a pre-recorded voice, rhythmic noise and exclamation
- lasted exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
