Story

This hour: The rise of media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch at 80
by Colin McNulty, with presenter Steve Hewlett (Whistledown Productions, BBC Radio 4, 2010)

One thing you can say about media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, without causing controversy, is that his career has been long and controversial. And, like it or not, his impact on the media of the world, has been huge. So how does one man come to control so much media? As you’ll hear in this hour’s look at Murdoch’s life and career, his father forged the path before him and young Rupert took to it like ink on paper.
