What is Podcasting?

Contrary to what you may be thinking, it’s simple, really. Podcasting allows you to download mp3s automatically from the internet and listen to them whenever and wherever you want. To set yourself up to receive our podcasts you’ll need a podcast subscription client.

Here are a couple options:

iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/)
Odeo (http://www.odeo.com)
Juice (the software formerly known as iPodder) (http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/)

Each of these programs will allow you to download podcasts and listen to them on your computer. If you want to make your podcasts portable, you’ll need to transfer them from your computer to a portable player, such as the ever-popular iPod.

Third Coast International Audio Festival (podcast)

The most compelling and creative audio documentaries and features produced worldwide for radio and the internet, including select episodes of the Third Coast Festival's weekly program Re:sound (a radiophonic remix of audio goodness) and occasional audio "treats," like producer profiles and debuts of more experimental work.

To subscribe, copy and paste the following URL into your podcasting client:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/tciafpodcast

To add this feed to iTunes:

1. Go to the "Advanced" Menu.
2. Select "Subscribe to Podcast..."
3. Copy and Paste the above URL into the text box.
4. Press "OK."

Podcast FAQs

We've made some recent changes to our podcast, merging the Re:sound podcast and the Third Coast Festival Featurecast into one new-and-improved uber-podcast, called simply: Third Coast International Audio Festival. Because of this transition, you may need to make some changes in iTunes or whatever your podcast subscription client happens to be. Read on for further instructions...

If you are a subscriber to the podcast-formerly-known-as Re:sound:

You actually don't have to do anything at all. You just have to keep listening. And to note that the podcast-formerly-known-as-Re:sound is now known as "Third Coast International Audio Festival". That's how it'll show up in your iTunes.

If you are a subscriber to the podcast-formerly-known-as-the-Featurecast (and you never subscribed to the Re:sound podcast):

You're going to need to subscribe to the Third Coast International Audio Festival (podcast). You can find instructions for how to do that above. In the meantime, the old Third Coast Festival Featurecast will no longer update. Long live the new podcast.

IT'S TRUE: technology can be a little weird and confusing sometimes, but don't be afraid! If you have any questions or are confused about the podcast merger, email us at info@thirdcoastfestival.org and we'll be happy to answer your questions or walk you through the subscription process.
